According to the couple, the home needed quite a bit of TLC when they first took ownership. Much of the interior, including the kitchen, had not been remodeled or even worked on since it was built…in 1929!

The pair teamed up with architect, Michael B. Lehere, to work on the dated home. It took 2 massive renovations to transform it into the home you see today!

Some of the renovations included an overhaul on the kitchen (of course!) as well as the addition of more bedrooms and bathrooms. Today, what was once only a 2-bedroom home is now 5 beds and 4 baths!

They also added a spacious pantry with gorgeous shoji-inspired doors.

Today, the couple still reside in their 4,108 square foot residence with apparently no plans of moving anytime soon.

Jamie Lee Curtis Mom

Jamie Lee Curtis’ mother was actress, singer, and author Jeanette Helen Morrison, known professionally as Janet Leigh. While Leigh starred in several films throughout the late 1940s and beyond, her most successful role was that of Marion Crane in Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller Psycho (1960).

Janet passed away in 2004 at the age of 77 from vasculitis or inflammation of the blood vessels. At the time of her death, Janet had a 85 acting credits to her name – one of which included an appearance in Jamie’s film Halloween H20: 20 Years Later in 1998.

Jamie Lee Curtis Dad

Jamie Lee Curtis’ father was actor, Tony Curtis. Tony had over 100 acting credits and a career that spanned 6 decades prior to his death at age 85 in 2010 from a cardiac arrest.

Some of Tony Curtis’ most recognized projects included Sweet Smell of Success (1957), Some Like it Hot (1959), and Spartacus (1960).

Tony was married to Janet Leigh for 12 years before filing for divorce in 1962 when Jamie was only 3 years old. Jamie’s mother, Janet, discovered Tony’s divorce filings while away on a film set. At the time, Tony’s reason for divorce was that he reportedly had fallen for a co-star – 17-year-old German actress, Christine Kaufmann.

Following the divorce, Jamie Lee states that her father had very little to do with her and her older sister. The girls would even discover that they had been completely cut out of his will.

Despite their rocky relationship, Jamie Lee continues to keep both her father and mother’s legacies alive. In the past, when speaking on her parents’ relationship, Jamie has said that she takes comfort in knowing she was “born from love and not resentment.”

Jamie Lee Curtis Husband

Jamie Lee Curtis has been married to director and actor, Christopher Guest, since 1984! Christopher Guest has appeared in nearly 100 different films and shows over the years, but his most memorable project to date is the 1984 mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap!

Before Curtis had even met Guest face-to-face, she apparently knew they were meant to be. At the time, she and Guest were both enjoying career success – with Curtis having already starred in Halloween and Guest in the Spinal Tap film.

On this specific occasion, Curtis and Halloween co-writer, Debra Hill, were flipping through a magazine together when Jamie noticed Guest in a photo alongside his Spinal Tap cast members. It was here that Jamie told her friend “I’m going to marry that man.”

Hill actually passed her friend’s phone number to Guest’s agent at the time, but Guest never called. Jamie Lee Curtis went on to briefly date someone else, but the relationship just wasn’t right for her, according to Curtis.

While grabbing lunch at a local Hollywood restaurant one day, however, Jamie Lee Curtis spotted her future husband-to-be sitting only 3 tables away. Suddenly, as Curtis puts it:

“I glanced up and found myself staring straight at Chris, three tables away. He waved to me as if to say, ‘I’m the guy you called.’ I waved back: ‘I’m the woman who called you.’ A few minutes later, he got up to leave. Standing 20 feet away, he shrugged his shoulders and put up his hand as if to say, ‘I’ll see ya’.”

Guest would call Curtis the following day and within months of the chance meeting, the pair were wed.

Jamie Lee Curtis Children

In 2020, Ruby had announced to her parents that she was transgender. When speaking about the life-changing event, Jamie Lee said:

“It’s speaking a new language. It’s learning new terminology and words. I am new at it. I am not someone who is pretending to know much about it. And I’m going to blow it, I’m going to make mistakes. I would like to try to avoid making big mistakes.”

“But if one person reads this, sees a picture of Ruby and me and says, ‘I feel free to say this is who I am,’ then it’s worth it.”
