Is Dolly Parton married?

She and her husband, Carl Dean, have a unique love story all their own. With a successful marriage of over 50 years, the way they met will melt your heart. Carl just knew he was going to marry her when he saw her in the laundromat washing her clothes. At the time, he was 21, and she was 18. Two years later, they did get married – in secret, of course, to avoid the press as she was famous at the time for her appearance on the Grand Ole Opry and the Porter Wagoner Show.

They tied the knot in a small Baptist Church in Ringgold, Georgia, with only the preacher, his wife, and Dolly’s mom in attendance.  Since then, Dolly has only become more popular while Carl remains behind the scenes. She often talks about what a simple life she lives when not touring – and Carl likes to live that way full-time. No fame for him!
