Vera Mindy Chokalingam (born June 24, 1979), known professionally as Mindy Kaling, is an American actress, comedian and writer. The creator and star of the Hulu sitcom The Mindy Project (which originally aired on Fox), she also works as an executive producer and writer on the show.
