Where Does Ron DeSantis Live?
Ron DeSantis and his family currently reside in the Governor’s mansion in Tallahassee, Florida. He moved into the historical estate back in 2019 when he was elected the governor of Florida.
Ron DeSantis House Tallahassee (Current)
As stated above, DeSantis and his family moved into this historic estate back in 2019 after DeSantis was elected governor of Florida. Only blocks away from the Florida State Capitol, the original structure was built in 1907 but had to be rebuilt in 1955 after the original structure became unsafe for habitation.
The Greek Revival-style estate features roughly 15,000 square of living space as well as 1.5 acres of land and 30 rooms. Back in the 1800s and into the early 20th century, Governors of the state lived in boarding houses or hotels during their tenure.
In 1905, however, the state appropriated $25,000 of funding to construct an official home for the governor – aka the Governor’s Mansion. The designer behind the newest version of the building, Marion Sims Wyeth, was instructed to use Andrew Jackson’s residence in Tennessee as inspiration for the new build.
Several governors over the years have added their own personal touch to the estate – from Jeb Bush’s 550-square foot library, to Charlie Crist’s addition of a solar-powered swimming pool. Also found on the grounds is a greenhouse and a garden featuring manatee sculptures.
On August 30, 2023, Casey DeSantis (Ron’s wife) posted photos on social media of the estate following hurricane Idalia’s landfall. The governor’s wife reported that a 100-year-old oak tree on the property fell on the home while she and their children were inside. No one at the mansion was injured.

He was deployed in 2007 as part of what is considered “the surge” where around 30,000 military troops were deployed to Iraq to combat insurgencies that were destroying cities like Fallujah.
During this time, DeSantis served as a legal adviser to Navy Captain Dane Thorleifson, the SEAL who commanded the Special Operations Task Force-West in Fallujah.

Ron DeSantis Disney
Okay, so Ron has a serious beef with Disney World and has pretty much been at war with The House of Mouse since 2022. The feud started after the multi-billion-dollar company criticized the governor’s bill on sexual identity.
For those unfamiliar with the situation, Ron DeSantis has led a legislative effort to massively limit classroom discussions on gender and sexuality – aka the “Don’t Say Gay” bill.
In response to the criticism, DeSantis had Disney stripped of its self-governing status and he was given authority to appoint a brand new tourist board that oversees the area. Following this, Disney filed a lawsuit against DeSantis and asked a federal court to overturn the governor’s efforts to control the Disney World theme parks. The company stated that DeSantis’s actions “campaign to weaponize government power.”
Since then, DeSantis has threatened to step up inspections of the theme park’s rides, add more toll roads in the area, and even mentioned building a state prison nearby. Due to the feud, Disney recently scrapped plans to construct a $1-billion-dollar corporate campus in the area that would’ve housed 2,000 employees.
The legal case is still ongoing at the time this article was published.
