Bill Gates's House

Bill Gates co-founded Microsoft in 1975 and was its chief executive until 2000. He has worked since mainly through the philanthropic foundation he and Melinda French Gates set up that same year.

Gates bought the place in 2013, after the family had rented this same house for a season while his daughter competed. Jennifer Gates was a teenage show jumper then.

He did not stop there. Benzinga counted about 18 acres and roughly $38M by 2016, leaving a single owner holding every lot on a dead-end street.

Wellington's council wrote the horses into law in 2003 with an equestrian overlay district, covering a 9,000-acre preserve across the village's western and southern ends.
