Billie Eilish's House

Pop singer and songwriter who was 13 when “Ocean Eyes” went viral in 2015. At 18 she swept the Grammys’ 4 top categories with a debut album made alongside her older brother, Finneas O’Connell.

The Los Angeles County Assessor dates the house to 1912. The county roll records no change of ownership since Billie’s parents bought it, more than 20 years ago.

Highland Park joined Los Angeles in 1895, the year Southern California’s first interurban electric railway was laid through it. The house came 17 years later, in the decade the Southwest Museum moved in from downtown.

The house belongs to Billie’s parents, actors Maggie Baird and Patrick O’Connell, and both kids grew up here.

According to AWAL, the parents slept on a futon in the living room so Finneas and Billie could each have a room of their own. His became the studio where their early songs were made.

Sound On Sound reports that “Ocean Eyes” was sung into an $80 microphone in Finneas’s room. The debut album that swept the 2020 Grammys came out of the same room.

Billie kept living here after the Grammys. At 20 she told Entertainment Tonight her home life was unchanged: “It’s as if you walked in here and it’s 2003.”
