Bobby Bones's House (former)

Bobby Bones, born Bobby Estell, brought his morning radio show to Nashville in 2012 and took it national a year later. He won season 27 of Dancing with the Stars in 2018.

The building went up in 1890 as a warehouse. It now holds 8 condominiums and 2 commercial spaces under the name Phoenix Lofts.

The photo set documenting the Printers Alley Historic District for the National Register, shot in May 1982, opens with this building: its front on Third Avenue, and its back elevation on the alley.

Bones bought the penthouse in 2014. He had not lived in it for years by the time it went up for sale in October 2021, months after his July wedding.

The county deed puts the sale on December 29, 2021, with a limited liability company on the receiving end.

Bones complained on air in 2018 about the noise and dust from the redevelopment next door. The developer, John Megale, said he found out Bones was griping about his “stupid neighbor.”

The alley behind the building was Nashville’s printing quarter: 2 newspapers, 10 print shops, and 13 publishers at its peak. Ambrose Printing, the last of them, moved out in 1977.
