Brad Pitt's House

Brad Pitt has acted since the late 1980s. A small part in Thelma and Louise made his name in 1991, and he won an acting Oscar in 2020 for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.

The house went up in 1960 to a design by Neil Johnson, who framed it in welded steel rather than the wood post and beam most of his peers used.

Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine bought it in 2007 and started a year-long restoration in 2008. Mark Haddawy pulled off drywall that had boxed in the steel beams, and the hanging fireplace is original to 1960.

The county's legal description pieces the lot together from parts of 2 separately recorded subdivisions. The building site was assembled, not carved off a single plat.

The 2023 deal with Aileen Getty ran both ways. She paid $33M for Pitt's longtime hillside compound, and he came away with her steel-framed midcentury house.

Burglars climbed the fence and broke in through a front window on a June night in 2025, while Pitt was away promoting F1. Police arrested 4 suspects that August.

Richard Neutra built the Lovell Health House in these same hills between 1927 and 1929, often called the first steel-framed house in the country. This one followed 3 decades later.
