Brad Pitt has acted since the late 1980s, from Thelma & Louise to Fight Club, and won an acting Oscar in 2020. Jennifer Aniston played Rachel Green on Friends for 10 seasons.

Wallace Neff drew the house for the actor Fredric March. Neff's client list over a 56-year career also ran to Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, and Groucho Marx.

March shared the house with the actress Florence Eldridge, his wife. The photographer Shirley Burden owned it later, and then Walter Annenberg, according to the Los Angeles Times.

The entertainment lawyer Ken Ziffren sold it to Pitt and Aniston in 2001. They kept it until 2006, the year after the marriage ended, and sold to Jonathan Brooks, a hedge fund executive.

Their 3 years of work put heated marble in the kitchen, added a screening room, and floored a pub in wood taken from a 200-year-old French chateau.

Brooks added the tennis court and its pavilion with a guest loft above, put the house back on the market in 2019 at $56M, and sold it off market at $32.5M.

The county assessment roll carries 1934 as the build year and dates the last change of ownership to 2021, a year after the sale Architectural Digest reported.
