Brian Kelley's House

Nashville, TN

The Story

Brian Kelley was half of Florida Georgia Line from 2010 to 2022, the duo whose “Cruise” spent 24 weeks atop Hot Country Songs. His solo album Tennessee Truth came out in 2024.

The main cabin here, called The Shack, is a Bobby McAlpine design. It ran in the architect's book The Home Within Us, published in 2010, before the Kelleys made it their own.

Old Charlotte Pike runs along the north edge of the acreage. The name comes from the stagecoach road from Nashville to Charlotte, Tennessee, which broke into pieces after the railroad passed the town by.

County records show 5 adjoining tracts totaling about 63 acres, all conveyed by one quitclaim deed recorded in October 2021. The company that holds them is named for the road.

Pete Nelson of Treehouse Masters built the studio treehouse 20 feet up in 3 black oaks in 2014. Its archway is cut from the wood of Kelley's childhood tree fort, built by his father.

The Kelleys married on the property in 2013 and put it on the market in 2018. He told Taste of Country in February 2019, “We will never sell that place.”

Florida Georgia Line ran a bar downtown, FGL House at 120 3rd Avenue South. It opened in June 2017 and closed on May 6, 2024.
