Kix Brooks's House

Nashville, TN

The Story

Kix Brooks is half of Brooks & Dunn, the Country Music Hall of Fame duo behind “Boot Scootin’ Boogie” and 20 No. 1 hits. He fronted radio’s American Country Countdown from 2006 to 2024.

The beams were milled from remnants of old tobacco warehouses, the windows imported from Germany, and the cellar sized for reserves from Kix’s own winery. The entrance was planted with wildflowers, endangered local species included.

Davidson County plats the house as lot 16 of Bancroft, a gated enclave in Forest Hills. The subdivision holds 21 wooded lots, running 2 acres to a shade over 14.

Kix closed here in August 2008, in a deal the Nashville City Paper tallied as the most expensive home purchase in Nashville that year.

The deed recorded on August 22, 2008 is still the one on file. County records show the 3.09-acre parcel held in trust with no transfer since, carried at $5.7M on the current appraisal roll.

A monthly wine gift from Tim McGraw and Faith Hill got Kix into the grape business. He opened Arrington Vineyards in 2007 at 6211 Patton Road in Arrington, 25 miles south of Nashville.
