Conway Twitty's House / Twitty City (former)

Country singer Conway Twitty built this colonial-style mansion at the heart of Twitty City, his theme-park home in Hendersonville, northeast of Nashville. He lived here until his death in June 1993.

Twitty City opened in 1982 at a cost of about $3.5M. The complex also held homes for Twitty's mother and children, a museum, an auditorium, and a shop.

A probate dispute between Twitty's children and his widow Dee ended with the estate ordered sold at auction. Trinity Broadcasting Network, or TBN, bought the complex in 1994 and renamed it Trinity Music City.

An EF-2 tornado on December 9, 2023 lifted and twisted the mansion's roof. TBN proposed demolishing every building except the Huckabee Theatre, and the Hendersonville Planning Commission deadlocked 4 to 4 in January 2024.

TBN reversed course after meeting Twitty's daughter Joni Ryles and agreed to restore the mansion as the reception building for a senior-living development. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved the 33-acre rezoning unanimously.

The mansion's restoration, new roof included, was complete by May 2025. In February 2026 the city approved the final plan for 110 independent-living cottages on the tract, keeping the mansion and the Huckabee Theatre.

Private TBN property: public tours ended on July 3, 2016 and have not resumed, and the grounds are an active construction site. Stay on the public road; the mansion stands on the frontage.
