Dr. Dre's House

Andre Young, the Compton producer who steered N.W.A and defined West Coast rap with 1992’s The Chronic. He launched Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and 50 Cent, then co-founded Beats, which Apple bought in 2014.

The county’s card dates the house to 1997 and logs a pool and a canyon view. The parcel took its shape in June 1990, when one subdivision lot absorbed part of a neighbor.

It sits in Mountain View Estates, a 385-home gated community at Mureau Road and Mountain View Drive, with its own private park and trail access toward Malibu.

Builders worked the neighborhood from 1989 to 1998 in Mediterranean style, on lots that can pass an acre. This house arrived near the end of that run.

Dre bought the Mediterranean-style house in 2018 and kept it for roughly 5 years.

By the time it sold in January 2023, he had extensively updated the house. The sale came on the heels of music-asset deals with Universal Music and Shamrock Holdings topping $200M.

The sale thinned, not ended, his local holdings: he kept another Calabasas house, and his main address stayed the Brentwood estate he bought from Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen.
