Eddie Murphy's House

Comedian and actor who joined Saturday Night Live at 19, then starred in Beverly Hills Cop and Coming to America. His turn in Dreamgirls earned him an Oscar nomination in 2007.

Beverly Park began in the late 1970s on land once meant for a country club named for Dean Martin. Developers Elliot Gottfurcht and Brian Adler finished the 250-acre gated enclave in 1990, per Hilton & Hyland.

The county roll dates this lot to October 1988 and the house to 2003, and shows no change of ownership since Murphy’s 2001 purchase. The parcel is taxed by the City of Los Angeles, not Beverly Hills.

Murphy bought the land in 2001 and had architect Richard Landry design a Mediterranean villa for it from the ground up. The house was finished in 2003.

According to California Energy Designs, the project’s engineers, Finton Construction built the house and Ron Wilson did the interiors. The firm puts the budget at $19.5M and lists a full-size indoor bowling alley and a screening room.

More than 20 years after the build, Netflix’s Being Eddie filmed Murphy at home here with his family. The film came out on November 12, 2025.

In June 2025, Paris Hilton paid $63.1M for Mark Wahlberg’s former estate in the same gated enclave. She bought it after the January 2025 fires destroyed her Malibu beach house.
