Giannis Antetokounmpo's House

River Hills, WI

The Story

Athens-born son of Nigerian immigrants, drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013 at 18. He grew into a 2-time NBA MVP and led Milwaukee to the 2021 championship, the franchise’s first in 50 years.

The house is younger than its Tudor looks suggest: a brick-veneer build from 2005, per BizTimes and Urban Milwaukee. It sits on about 5 acres, with a pool and a guest house out back.

River Hills incorporated in 1930 to keep its estate country rural, and 85% of its home lots run 5 acres or more. The Milwaukee Country Club, its old social center, moved here from Shorewood in 1911.

Giannis bought it in October 2018 from former teammate Mirza Teletovic, the third Buck in a row to own it. Michael Carter-Williams started the run in August 2015, months after his trade to Milwaukee.

In November 2019 he sued his remodeling contractor, saying he paid about $238,000 for work, a shoe closet included, that was left partly undone. The contractor countersued, saying it could not get village permits for the fence.

In the 2020 shutdown he told the AP he had no hoop at home, unlike many NBA players with a court in their house. He trained on a bike, a treadmill, and weights instead.

The Bucks agreed to trade him to Miami in June 2026, and by September he had bought a house there, per The Real Deal. Milwaukee County’s latest tax roll still names him as owner here.
