James Spader's House (former)

Actor who won at Cannes for Sex, Lies, and Videotape in 1989 and took 3 Emmys as Alan Shore. Then 10 seasons as The Blacklist’s Red Reddington.

County assessor records date the house to 1940 and log an effective year of 1994, the marker for a remodel deep enough to reset a building’s age.

James Spader and Victoria Spader bought the house in December 1993. They stayed the owners of record until November 2003, almost 10 years.

Up the street, Paul Revere Williams designed a Colonial Revival in 1941 for Bert Lahr, 2 years after he played the Cowardly Lion in The Wizard of Oz.

Heather House, further along, went up in the late 1930s. Dick Powell and Joan Blondell owned it, and after them the agent Ed Limato.

For years Limato threw an A-list party there on the Friday night before the Academy Awards. He died at the house on July 3, 2010.
