LeBron James's House (former)

LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 2023 to become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer. He has won 4 championships with 3 franchises: Miami, Cleveland, and the Lakers.

Architect Ken Ungar, who has drawn custom Westside houses since 1989, designed it. Galerie calls the look classic East Coast: a hip roof, dormers, and a front of white brick and natural stone.

Brentwood Park’s tract map, recorded in January 1906 on former Sepulveda rancho land, drew 32 traffic circles and 33 ovals. Residents voted in 1916 to join Los Angeles for city services.

The county roll dates the house to 2011 and still describes the lot by its block in the original Brentwood Park tract. Its 2022 base year marks the change of ownership after James sold.

James bought the house in October 2015, during his second season back with Cleveland. A Realtor.com report that ran on Fox News called it a vacation house for summers, with his main home staying in Ohio.

On May 31, 2017, the day before the NBA Finals opened, a security guard found a racial slur spray-painted on the front gate. LAPD investigated it as a possible hate crime; James was away with the Cavaliers.

James put the house up for sale in March 2021 and sold it privately that September, Dirt reported. The Los Angeles Times noted the house next door had been razed and was being rebuilt.

The neighborhood’s bluff-top gardens once looked down on the polo fields in Santa Monica Canyon. When the 1932 Olympics held equestrian events there, residents watched from gazebos along the rim, the Brentwood Park Property Owners Association says.
