Madonna's House (former)
Hidden Hills, CA
The Story
Madonna is the best-selling female recording artist of all time, with hits from “Like a Virgin” to “Hung Up.” Her Celebration tour closed in 2024 with a free show on Rio’s Copacabana Beach.
Residents voted 358 to 71 to make this gated town a city in September 1961, 11 years after its first homesites were advertised. They had started a Church on Horseback 2 years earlier.
County assessor records date the house to 2017 and mark its lot as one where horses may be kept.
The Weeknd bought the house in May 2017, new that year, and kept it for nearly 4 years. He first put it on the market in June 2020.
Madonna bought it from him in April 2021, 10 months after it first went up for sale. Architectural Digest reported the deal that month.
During her ownership, she turned the property’s barn into a gym with a dance and Pilates studio, a change both Galerie and Celebrity Net Worth described in 2022.
She put it back on the market in April 2022 and sold it in June 2023, a little over 2 years after buying it, TMZ reported. County records show a change of ownership that year.
