The shingled farmhouse dates from around 1900, with an open porch and a trellised patio, and the brick fireplace and wooden shutters were still in place when it last sold.

The National Register district at this road's north end is there because old houses were moved onto it from other sites, one as late as 1931. This house sits outside that district.

Zellweger paid $2.15 million for it in 2003, with ownership recorded in the photographer Bruce Weber's name rather than hers, according to the New York Post.

The 2025 assessment roll for the village still shows the 2014 buyer as owner of record, with no transfer recorded since.

She put it up for sale in October 2014 and it was gone inside a month, closing that November at $4.7 million, a quarter of a million dollars above the price she had set.

John Mascheroni owned the house from 1974 to 1982. When Zellweger bought in 2003 he told the New York Post that the spirit of a former owner, Lillian Worthington, was there and loved to play tricks.
