Russell Weiner's House (former)

Beverly Hills, CA

The Story

Russell Weiner founded Rockstar energy drink in 2001 and sold the company to PepsiCo in 2020. Before he owned this Beverly Hills estate, it was Madonna’s Los Angeles home from 2003 to 2013.

Los Angeles County assessor records date the main house to 1912. Every other house on its assessor map page went up in 1926 or later, so this one predates the rest by more than a decade.

The main house is French country in style. Its walled and gated grounds hold guest houses, a pool, and a tennis court, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Madonna bought the estate from the actress Sela Ward in June 2003. She rebuilt and expanded it during her decade of ownership, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Madonna put the house up for sale in 2012 and sold it in 2013. Bisnow reported that the buyer was a private equity investor who sold it again about 2 years later.

Weiner bought the estate in 2015, about 2 years after Madonna sold it. The county assessor’s roll shows it changed hands again, with a new tax base set in 2022.

Beverly Hills was a slow-selling subdivision in those early years: Los Angeles magazine counts only 6 homes north of Santa Monica Boulevard as of 1910. The city incorporated in early 1914.
