Selena Gomez's House (former)
Fort Worth, TX
The Story
Actor, singer, and Rare Beauty founder who grew up in Grand Prairie, between Dallas and Fort Worth. She went from Barney & Friends in 2002 to Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place, then to Only Murders in the Building.
The stone-clad house went up in 2005 behind iron gates, with arched doorways and woodwork carried through its rooms, according to PaperCity. Out back, the grounds run to a pool, a tennis court, and a putting green.
The gated enclave around it opened in 2003 on 215 acres of Fort Worth’s west side, laid out around a run of white bluffs above a creek. Lot sales stalled in the 2008 recession and recovered by 2010.
Selena bought it in November 2015, the month after her album Revival came out, to spend time with family between tours. Aside from holidays, CultureMap Dallas reported, the house saw little use.
She spent more than 2 years trying to sell. A first try in August 2016 was pulled after months without a buyer, and by February 2018 PaperCity was counting a third attempt at a lower price.
CandysDirt reported the sale closed on October 12, 2018, 8 months after the San Antonio Current first called it sold. Asked who bought it, broker Richard Wegman said everyone involved was bound to confidentiality.
