Selena Gomez's House (former)

Los Angeles, CA

The Story

Singer and actor who got her start on Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Her first Billboard Hot 100 chart-topper, “Lose You to Love Me,” came out in 2019, while she owned this house.

The county assessor dates the house to 1951 and gives it an effective year of 1983, the roll’s marker for major later work. Of the 19 houses on its tract, 17 went up between 1941 and 1959.

The Dallas Observer, citing Page Six, reported in June 2017 that the house had already been renovated 3 times by the time Gomez bought it.

Architectural Digest covered the purchase on May 30, 2017, calling it a modest ranch-style house with a pool, fruit trees, and vegetable beds. A separate space could become a studio or a guesthouse.

Within a year Gomez had lightened the interiors, according to Abode2: bleached oak replaced the dark wood flooring, and the brick around the living room fireplace was painted white.

Gomez put the house on the market in June 2018 and sold it in September 2020, Fox Business reported, citing the Los Angeles Times. By then its guesthouse held a yoga studio.

Before this house, Gomez owned an estate in Calabasas, where a man was arrested on the property in March 2014. TMZ reported in November 2015 that she had called 911 there 3 times and was selling.
