Snoop Dogg's House

Long Beach rapper who broke out on Dre’s The Chronic in 1992, then took his own debut, Doggystyle, to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 a year later. He has been recording for more than 30 years since.

County assessor records date the house to 1977 and log its outlook as a canyon view. The parcel runs to more than an acre and a half of hillside.

Hello placed the house inside the Country Estates, a guard-gated enclave that began in 1966 as Equestrian Estates. By the 1980s it was Southern California’s largest equestrian community, with 720 horse lots.

Transamerica bought the old Diamond Bar Ranch in the 1950s to build a planned town. Don Ury, the company vice president who oversaw the Country Estates, told Patch the plan shifted because “the houses and lots got bigger.”

Snoop bought here in 1998, and the county’s tax base year still reads 1998, so the house has not changed hands since. It carries a homeowners’ exemption, the county’s marker for an owner’s main residence.

A remodel here ended in court. In 2018 Snoop filed a claim for at least $500,000 against his contractors, saying they left work unfinished and did not pay subcontractors, per The Blast and Architectural Digest.

The job list in the dispute ran from stucco and paint touch-ups and new doors and appliances to a glass fence around the pool and rust scrubbed off the pool itself, according to The Blast.
