The Kansas City Star describes a French chateau-inspired house built of corner-cut limestone. It is one of 14 estates inside a gated neighborhood in the Blue Valley School District.
Elite Agent, a real-estate trade outlet, dates the house to 1998. It credits the later renovations to Wolfgang Trost Architects and builder Harry Roth.
The Kansas City Star traced the seller to a trust tied to the family of Leawood attorney Jim Bartimus. County records it cited list the buyer as an LLC from Rocky River, Ohio, a Cleveland suburb.
Kelce closed in November 2023 and has made numerous updates since, according to Realtor.com. Work on an underground man cave began in October 2024.
Burglars hit the house on October 7, 2024, during the Chiefs’ Monday night home win over the Saints. The AP put the loss at $20,000 in cash, and Patrick Mahomes’s home was hit within days.
Police arrested a man on the grounds in the early hours of September 15, 2025; he said he was a process server with a subpoena. Leawood Municipal Court placed him in a 12-month diversion program that December.
