The Twilight Cullen House
Portland, OR
The Story
The Cullen family's house in Twilight, Catherine Hardwicke's 2008 film of Stephenie Meyer's vampire novel, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. A private home in northwest Portland played the house where Edward brings Bella to meet his family.
Portland firm Skylab Architecture designed it on the border of Forest Park. Dwell describes a house made mostly of steel, glass, and wood, with living spaces that cantilever out from the structure.
Skylab's own project notes say the plan keeps the footprint small to heighten a “floating, forested tree-house” feel. Decks and patios ring the rooms, and the landscape won a 2012 merit award from Oregon's landscape architects.
The county tax roll dates the house to 2006 and records a sale in February 2022. Trade coverage of the architect's work gives 2007 as the year it was finished.
According to LEGO designer Laura Perron, the second film kept the exterior shots and built a different interior on a soundstage. The third rebuilt the first 2 floors as a set that could be trucked to Baton Rouge.
In February 2025 LEGO released the house as a 2,001-piece set, developed from a design by California fan Nick Micheels. It comes with 7 minifigures, a grand piano, and Bella's red truck.
The steel and glass went up in Willamette Heights, a neighborhood Portland Monthly credits to developers Russell and Blyth and their Craftsman spec houses. The Oregonian has called it “the original Street of Dreams.”
