The Walter White House
Albuquerque, NM
The Story
This Albuquerque house in the Northeast Heights played the home of Walter White, the chemistry teacher turned meth cook in AMC’s Breaking Bad. It is a private residence, not a set or an attraction.
Only the exterior was filmed for the show, the Associated Press reported in 2025. The inside of the house was used for prep, and interior scenes were shot in a studio.
The family that owned the house through filming had lived there since 1973, the owner told the Associated Press in January 2025. Breaking Bad premiered on AMC 35 years after they moved in.
In October 2017 the owners put a 6-foot wrought-iron fence across the front. Visitors had thrown pizzas onto the roof, taken landscaping rocks, and told the residents to get out of their photos.
About 300 cars a day were coming by when the family put the house up for sale in January 2025, the owner said. Security cameras had gone up too.
The nearly $4M ask drew little serious interest, the Albuquerque Journal reported. Put back on the market at $400,000 in February 2026, the house sold for $1.3M before the month was out.
A streamer announced he had won the bidding and would remake the house as it looked on the show. Per the Albuquerque Journal, the agent on the sale would not confirm the buyer.
There is no public access: this is a private home, seen only from the public street. How the new owner has used it since the 2026 sale has not been reported.
