Santa's Pub

A cash-only, beer-only dive with karaoke 7 nights a week, in a double-wide trailer decked for Christmas year-round. Retired house painter Elmer Denzel Irwin, Santa for the beard, opened it in 2011.

The trailer has poured beer since 1963, trading names down the decades: Jerry’s, Somewhere Else, then Eddie’s. Before the bar years, the structure worked as a construction office for houses going up nearby.

Irwin ran it with his wife Angelina and their grandsons, under a standing house code: be nice, and no cussing in front of women. The bar made it 14 years without a single fight.

Irwin died in September 2025 at 75. The pub reopened on what would have been his 76th birthday, with grandson Riley Ricketts vowing to keep it “a karaoke dive bar in the double-wide trailer.”

Kacey Musgraves and Ed Sheeran were regulars, treated no differently than anyone else. After Irwin’s death, Musgraves wrote that he was “such a massive part of mine and my friends’ lives for years.”

Flash flooding swept the block on April 3, 2025, and video that night showed water ringing the trailer while tornado sirens sounded.

It sits near the Nashville fairgrounds at the edge of Wedgewood-Houston. The Daily Meal ranked it among the 25 best dive bars in America in 2015.
