Adam Lambert's House (former)

Singer who finished runner-up on American Idol in 2009. He first sang with Queen in 2011, has fronted the band on tour since, and played the Emcee in Cabaret on Broadway in 2024.

The hills above the Sunset Strip were farmland until 1905, when the Hacienda Park Land Company assembled 140 acres from the Rush, Moore, and Newcomb families. The ridge lots sat unsold for want of water and power.

That changed in October 1923, when developer Jack Evans paid $500,000 for the last 65 hillside acres and ran in water, power, and gas. The West Hollywood Historical Society puts his own house on this street.

The county's parcel record dates the house now standing here to 1952, long after Evans, and gives it an effective year of 1975. Land and improvement base years both reset to 2026, which happens after a sale.

Lambert took the place in August 2018, and the sale was a step down for the seller. That owner had paid $6.8M for it in 2017, a year before letting it go.

The house came to him as a builder's spec build, so the remodel was cosmetic, not structural. Justin Krzyston of Stonehurst, who ran it, said they spent nothing behind the walls and everything in front of them.

Lambert offered it for rent in June 2019, ten months after buying, and withdrew it two weeks later. His July 2025 sale came in about $300,000 under what he paid, a second straight loss on this house.
