Adam Lambert House: His Two Hollywood Hills Homes, Both Now Sold

Adam Lambert finished second on American Idol in 2009 and has sung with Queen since 2011. For most of the years since, his answer to where he lived was the Hollywood Hills above the Sunset Strip, in one of two houses that Fox Business put only about a mile apart. He sold the first in July 2020 and the second in July 2025, each for less than he paid.

Where he lives now, he has said himself. In a 2024 interview with British Airways' High Life magazine, a year before the second sale, he put it this way: “I live for the majority of my time in LA, but I recently got a small condo in New York, so I have a pied-à-terre now in Dumbo.” As of October 2026 we have found no report of a new house in Los Angeles.

The street addresses stay behind the ropes. Both houses are on the map, as the house he owned from 2018 to 2025 and the house he owned from 2014 to 2020.

The house he bought in 2018

Lambert closed on the second house on August 15, 2018, for $6.5M. The owner before him had paid $6.8M for it in 2017, the classic-rock news site UCR reported that September. How old it was depends on who you ask. The Los Angeles County Assessor dates the house to 1952. UCR, reporting his purchase in 2018, described it as only two years old, and the contractor who later worked on it for Lambert called it a spec build, a house put up by a developer to sell rather than for a client. The accounts do not agree, and no permit record we could reach settles it. This page follows the county.

The street is older than either date. According to the West Hollywood Historical Society, the developer Jack Evans, who brought water, power, and gas to these hills in 1923, built his own house on it.

What came next was cosmetic, by the contractor's own account. Justin Krzyston of Stonehurst Construction told Carolwood Estates, the brokerage that later sold the house, that a spec build let the money go straight into looks and materials: “Behind the walls we spent essentially nothing. That allowed us to spend in front of them where life happens.”

Ten months in, Lambert put the house up for rent. Zillow's price-and-tax history shows it offered on June 28, 2019, and withdrawn on July 13, while the 2014 house sat unsold.

He put the house on the market in May 2025 at $7.375M and sold it on July 21 for $6.2M, according to Realtor.com, TMZ and Fox Business. The county's new assessed value for the house matches the $6.2M sale price. His agent, Greg Holcomb of Carolwood Estates, told Realtor.com that Lambert loved the house and that it was “time for a new chapter.” Two owners in a row had now sold the house for about $300,000 less than they paid.

The house he bought in 2014

The first house came in 2014, at $2.995M, according to WRMF and WPTV. The county dates it to 1947.

Selling it took three years, WRMF reported: $3.995M asked in 2017, cut to $3.595M in 2019, then to $3.35M in February 2020. It sold that July for $2.92M, which TMZ and UCR also reported, about $75,000 under what he had paid six years earlier.

Its mailing address says West Hollywood, but the county tax roll puts it inside the City of Los Angeles, as it does the 2018 house. Our profile files it under West Hollywood, the name on its mail.
