Al Pacino's House (former)

Beverly Hills, CA

The Story

Actor Al Pacino first shared the screen with Robert De Niro in Heat in 1995, then won Emmys as Roy Cohn in Angels in America and as Jack Kevorkian. The Irishman later brought his 9th Oscar nomination.

Los Angeles County’s assessor dates the house to 1922 but rates it as a 1938 building, an allowance for later remodeling. Its 2026 roll records a change of ownership, the house still on the books.

The street plan predates the house. Around 1907, landscape architect Wilbur Cook laid out Beverly Hills for the Rodeo Land and Water Company as a grid of gently curving, tree-lined streets, with larger parcels to the north.

Novelist Jackie Collins, who wrote Hollywood Wives, bought the house in 1988, according to the agent who marketed it in 2025. Her family lived in it first, he said, and she later rented it to Pacino.

Pacino rented for nearly 18 years and never owned it. He stayed when the house changed hands in 2016, a year after Collins died, and left a few months before it came up for sale in 2025.

Hello magazine’s September 2015 profile of Collins opened with a tour bus moving on to a mansion that, it said, “belongs to Al Pacino.” The mansion was hers, and Pacino was the tenant paying her rent.

Pacino wrote in his 2024 memoir that when he went broke around 2011 he was paying “a ridiculous amount of money to rent some big fancy house in Beverly Hills.” By the agent’s dates, this was it.
