Amy Grant & Vince Gill's House

Amy Grant carried contemporary Christian music onto the pop charts: “Baby Baby” topped the Hot 100 in 1991. She married Vince Gill, winner of 22 Grammys, in March 2000.

Davidson County dates the house to 1929: 2 stories of brick, 12 rooms, on 2.13 acres. The deed still describes the ground as lots 16, 17, and 18 of the Bransford subdivision.

Most of the house came later. The county’s building record lists brick and stone additions with more finished floor space than the original 1929 block and its half story combined.

Belle Meade was a horse-breeding farm before it was an address. The Bransford Realty Company acquired the 2,600-acre property in 1906, after the plantation was dissolved.

The county’s sale record lists only 3 transfers for the parcel since 1964: one that year, one in 1996, and a deed recorded in August 2000, months after the couple married.

In July 2022 Grant hit a pothole while riding in Percy Warner Park and was knocked unconscious. Metro Parks closed the road and patched the hole within about 4 hours.

Gill told Atlanta Magazine in 2019 that Belle Meade is “the real well-to-do part of town with the prettiest homes.” He added, “I’ve always loved the architecture.”
