Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt's House (former)

Brad Pitt has led films since Thelma and Louise in 1991 and holds acting and producing Oscars. Angelina Jolie won hers for Girl, Interrupted in 2000.

The main house dates to 1915, and county records show its parcel was not drawn in its present shape until February 2014. Four neighboring parcels were reassessed alongside it in 2023.

Pitt worked with the architecture firm GRAFT on a studio here in 1998, lining walls and floors with mica stone and local pine, with the shelving built into the walls.

Pitt bought the house in 1994 from Cassandra Peterson, television’s Elvira, for $1.7M. Peterson has said she warned him it was haunted, and the warning only appealed to him.

The compound ran to close to 2 acres, with a skate park, a tennis court, and a koi pond. The March 2023 sale closed days before Measure ULA, the city’s new tax on high-value homes.

Peterson told People that about 22 houses backed onto the land in Los Feliz and Pitt bought them as they came up. One elderly owner stayed on rent free until he died at 105.

Pitt and Jolie raised their 6 children here until their 2016 separation. He put it up for sale in January 2023 and moved north to Carmel.
