Angelina Jolie's House (former)

Angelina Jolie has acted since the early 1990s, became a global draw as Lara Croft in 2001, and directed Unbroken in 2014. She was a UNHCR special envoy from 2012 to December 2022.

Jolie never owned this house. She leased it from the actor Denise Richards in October 2016, weeks after filing for divorce from Brad Pitt, and Variety put the rent at $30,000 a month.

Denise Richards bought the place in 2007 and, Variety reported, gave it a heavy remodel and a large expansion before putting it up for sale in June 2015.

County assessor data puts the build year at 1991, with an effective year of 2000. The largest cluster of houses on this road still dates from the 1950s, when the land was first sold off.

This city began in 1950 as Archibald Hanson’s full-acre tract, advertised as “1,000 Acres of Elbow Room.” In 1956 he handed the pool, the main road and the front gatehouse to a residents’ association.

Residents of this western San Fernando Valley city voted for cityhood in 1961, 358 to 71, rather than be annexed by Los Angeles. It became the county’s 73rd city that October.

Richards filmed her 2008 reality series here until neighbors complained, and TMZ reported the community’s managers then banned productions outright. She sold the house in July 2018.
