Ayesha Curry & Stephen Curry's House (former)
Walnut Creek, CA
The Story
Ayesha Curry is a Canadian-born cook and TV host whose first cookbook, The Seasoned Life, became a New York Times best-seller in 2016. She married Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry in 2011.
The house went up in 2006 as a Mediterranean-style villa with its own guesthouse, according to Realtor.com. It sits near open-space hiking trails and Diablo Foothills Regional Park, with Mount Diablo in view.
The Currys spent about $400K reworking it, including the kitchen Ayesha cooked in on camera. The San Francisco Chronicle said the work turned a traditional Mediterranean villa into a contemporary Santa Barbara one.
Steph and Ayesha bought it in November 2015, 5 months after his first NBA title. They came here from a house in Orinda they had bought in 2013, NBC Bay Area reported.
Realtor.com reported that Ayesha’s Homemade, her first Food Network series, filmed cooking scenes inside the house. The 6-episode show premiered on October 22, 2016, days before word got out that the house was for sale.
The family added an elaborate playhouse for their daughter Riley, NBC Bay Area reported. When the house went up for sale, there was no word on whether the playhouse would move with them.
They put it up for sale in October 2016, months after moving into a gated compound in Alamo. SocketSite put the August 2017 sale about $200K under their 2015 purchase, before counting the remodel.
