Ayesha Curry & Stephen Curry's House (former)

Waxhaw, NC

The Story

Ayesha Curry turned a home-cooking blog into cookbooks, restaurants, and Food Network shows. Stephen Curry, her husband since 2011, has played for the Golden State Warriors since 2009 and holds the NBA record for career 3-pointers.

Union County's tax record dates the house to 2007, while Fox News said 2008. Fox described a European-style design in a guard-gated community about 30 miles south of Charlotte.

Waxhaw takes its name from the Waxhaw people, whose chief village explorer John Lederer visited in 1670. The town incorporated in 1889, and Andrew Jackson was born in the surrounding Waxhaws region in 1767.

Curry grew up in Charlotte, and the couple bought here in 2011, moving in a few months before their wedding. Ayesha told The Charlotte Observer in 2012 there was plenty of room for the wedding party to stay.

Curry had the builders raise an outdoor staircase so his tall friends would not have to duck, WSOC-TV reported on a 2018 tour. The couple designed the pool table in the man cave themselves.

The same tour singled out the kitchen as the room where Ayesha started her food career. Their first daughter, Riley, was born in 2012 while the family lived here.

Union County's deed record shows Curry also held the empty lot next door. It sold on January 18, 2019, 12 days before the house itself changed hands.
