Britney Spears's House (former)
Calabasas, CA
The Story
Pop singer who broke out as a teenager in 1998 and won her Grammy for “Toxic” in 2005. In November 2021 a court ended the 13-year conservatorship that ran her career and finances.
The county roll dates the house to 2009, one of the last originals finished on its section of the tract. Of the 24 houses there built 2005 to 2009, 18 went up in 2005 and 2006.
Its owner before Britney was Bill Slevin, a car dealership executive who had lived here since 2012, according to La Opinión. He handed over the keys on June 10, 2022.
Britney married Sam Asghari on June 9, 2022, in the backyard of her Thousand Oaks home, the next town over. She bought this house the following day.
She bought it less than a year after the conservatorship ended. A source told People it mattered to her to have a home she chose without needing anyone’s approval.
Britney sold after about 8 months, below what she paid, in an off-market deal. Her agent, Bryce Pennel, said he found a buyer in under 7 days and closed the all-cash sale in 3 business days.
Elle Decor reported she left partly over privacy concerns. Pennel said the aim was a fast sale, since homes in the neighborhood often sat for over a year and took price cuts.
