Jared Allen's House

Nashville, TN

The Story

136 sacks from 2004 to 2015, for the Chiefs, Vikings, Bears, and Panthers, put Jared Allen in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2025. He spends retirement chasing an Olympic spot in competitive curling.

The house here went up in the 1930s on 6.5 acres with a front creek, a pool, and a guest house. Deed restrictions on the property said the home could not be demolished.

It shares Curtiswood Lane with “Far Hills,” the Georgian house finished in 1931 for National Life founder William Ridley Wills. The state bought that one in 1949, and Tennessee’s governors have lived there since.

Reese Witherspoon bought the place in July 2014 through a trust and planned to bring it back. The kitchen was already stripped of its flooring and appliances, and her parents lived nearby.

The restoration never happened. Reese sold to a trust in June 2019, and deed research for Velvet Ropes’ original profile identified the buyers as Jared and his wife, Amy.

The Allens took the old house down and built new. Davidson County’s roll now carries $10.1M in improvements, and a March 2026 quitclaim moved the lot into an LLC named for the lane.

Minnie Pearl lived on this lane too, next door to the governor’s mansion. Her house sold in 2007 for $4.6M to vacuum executive Tom Oreck.
