Christina Applegate's House

Christina Applegate played Kelly Bundy on Fox's Married with Children from 1987 to 1997. She won an Emmy for guesting on Friends, drew a Tony nomination for Sweet Charity, and later led Netflix's Dead to Me.

Los Angeles County assessor records date the house to 1989, which makes it one of the newest on a street built out mostly in the 1950s. The lot never belonged to the tract around it.

Charles Spencer Mann and his partners advertised the Wonderland Park tract next door in 1924, modestly priced lots threaded together by narrow lanes and walking paths.

Applegate has held the place since 1995, and the county's land and improvement base years both still read 1995. Under Proposition 13, that means no sale has reset the clock since.

A flood forced the floors to be torn out, and Applegate used the wreckage to redo a kitchen she had called “god-awful.” Jessica Today, a designer hired through an online decorating service, finished it in 2016.

Applegate and musician Martyn LeNoble married at the house on February 23, 2013, in a private ceremony with family around them. Their daughter Sadie was 2.

The Army Air Corps built a classified film studio up in Laurel Canyon in 1947. It cut Nevada nuclear test footage for the Defense Department until the unit stood down in 1969.
