Dolly Parton's House
Brentwood, TN
The Story
Grammy winning singer-songwriter and actress behind “Jolene,” “9 to 5,” and “I Will Always Love You.” She has recorded country music since the 1960s and helped launch Dollywood, the park that carries her name.
The 23-room house went up in 1972, framed with help from her husband, Carl Dean, her uncle, and several brothers. She set it back on roughly 70 acres to keep the road at a distance.
Brentwood approved a barn addition on the property in 2014, built to match the 3 barns already standing and capped under 17 feet tall.
Dolly and Carl added an adjoining parcel to the property in 1999, folding a neighbor’s lot into the original acreage rather than expanding the main house.
The estate is sometimes called Willow Lake Plantation, a name Parton rarely uses. The main house has never had a full televised tour, and the grounds stay closed to visitors.
Carl, who helped build the house in 1972, was married to Dolly for 59 years before he died in March 2025.
