Drake's House (former)

Hidden Hills, CA

The Story

Drake played Jimmy Brooks on Degrassi before Lil Wayne signed him in 2009. A decade on, Spotify counted him the most streamed artist of the 2010s.

County records date the original house to 1974, on a 3-acre lot flagged for horses in a gated equestrian suburb northwest of Los Angeles.

Larry Pollack, founder of the Saddle Ranch Chop House chain, owned it before Drake and listed it in 2009 at $27M. Drake closed 3 years later at $7.7M.

He named the Tudor-style spread the YOLO Estate. Purchases next door in 2015 and 2018 grew the compound to 3 houses on 6.5 acres.

He told Rolling Stone it was his computer’s desktop image years before he owned it, found by searching for the world’s craziest residential pools. He first went looking, unsigned, in 2007.

Behind the pool’s waterfall sat a grotto with a wet bar, iron torches, and 2 stone elk on top. The grounds ran to a mechanical bull and stables for horses he didn’t own.

His decade there ended in 2022. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford bought the 2 smaller houses that April, and the main compound went to an unnamed buyer that June.
