Detroit rapper who broke out in 1999 with The Slim Shady LP and became hip-hop’s best-selling act, with more than 220 million records sold. He later won an Academy Award for “Lose Yourself.”

The French Normandy style house went up in 1986, then got an interior renovation with imported materials in 1993.

Winkler Mill Road is named for a gristmill built around 1832 on Stony Creek. Joseph Winkler ran it for more than 40 years, still grinding flour on its original millstones by 1914.

Eminem bought the estate in 2003 from Charles Conaway, the Kmart chief executive who resigned amid the retailer’s bankruptcy. He sold it in 2017, at a loss, after 14 years there.

He listed the house in August 2017 as one he had “barely lived in,” and it sold about a month later.
