Erin Burnett's House

Erin Burnett has anchored CNN's 7 p.m. hour since October 3, 2011, her first day at the network. She reached television by way of Goldman Sachs, where she worked on mergers and acquisitions.

The tower is young for the Upper West Side. City land records date it to 2005, count 30 stories and 229 apartments, and carry the whole building as one rental lot with no condominium units.

Two older buildings came down for it. Demolition permits were filed in February 2002 for a 6-story building on the corner and a 5-story neighbor up the block.

The new-building application went in on January 17, 2002. The city approved it 13 months later, at a height of 339 feet, with David West signed on as architect of record.

West's office at the time was Costas Kondylis and Partners, the firm that drew Trump World Tower. Kondylis put up 86 residential towers in Manhattan, about 1 every 6 weeks from 2000 to 2007.

The view west is a made thing. Lincoln Center and its superblocks came out of a 1950s renewal plan that cleared hundreds of buildings in San Juan Hill and displaced more than 7,000 families.

Erin's apartment here is leased, not owned: Glenwood Management runs the tower and rents out every unit in it.

Glenwood gave New York politicians more than $10M in a decade and sat at the center of the 2015 trials that convicted Sheldon Silver and Dean Skelos. No one at the company was charged.

CNN's New York newsroom sat in the Time Warner Center at Columbus Circle, a few blocks down Broadway, for the show's first years. The network moved to Hudson Yards on May 6, 2019.
