Jennifer Lopez's House

Water Mill, NY

The Story

Singer, actor, and dancer who went from In Living Color’s Fly Girls to the title role in Selena in 1997. Her 1999 debut, On the 6, began a pop run that reached the 2020 Super Bowl halftime show.

New York’s state parcel roll dates the house to 2012, about a year before Lopez bought it. The New York Post gave 2004 as the build year in both its 2013 and 2021 coverage.

Water Mill grew up around the gristmill Edward Howell built about 1644 on 40 acres the Southampton settlers granted him. The mill later fulled cloth, made paper, and churned ice cream before it became a museum.

Lopez closed in May 2013 after years of renting in the Hamptons, Dan’s Papers reported. Architectural Digest said in 2025 that she still owns it and spent much of summer 2024 here.

The purchase covered 2 lots: the house and a vacant parcel beside it. On the 2025 state roll both are held by LLCs sharing one mailing address, and the second lot is still vacant land.

In September 2017 she opened the house to Hola USA for a cover interview shot by Patrick Demarchelier. She used it to talk about Por Primera Vez, her first Spanish-language album in a decade.

Her 55th birthday lunch, on July 21, 2024, was on the terrace at Arthur & Sons, an Italian restaurant in neighboring Bridgehampton. Chef Joe Isidori told People the small group shared “many heartfelt stories.”
