Kelly Clarkson's House (former)

Hendersonville, TN

The Story

Kelly Clarkson won the first season of American Idol in 2002, then built two decades of pop hits from “Since U Been Gone” to “Stronger.” She now hosts her own daytime talk show.

The house went up in 2007, built by developer David Luckey on a multi-acre stretch of Old Hickory Lake shoreline.

Clarkson bought the house in 2013 for $2.8M. She put it on the market in 2017 asking $8.75M, more than triple what she paid.

She renovated the house extensively after buying it, expanding several of the living spaces before moving in.

When the sale closed in 2021, gossip claimed Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson were the buyers. Her agent denied it, saying only that an out-of-state family had bought the house.

Old Hickory Lake has drawn Nashville’s country royalty since the dam went in, with Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, and Conway Twitty all keeping homes along its shoreline.
