Rodney Atkins's House (former)

Country singer who strung 6 No. 1s between 2006 and 2011, “If You're Going Through Hell” among them. Adopted as an infant in East Tennessee, he made “Watching You” a fatherhood anthem.

Brick with arched wooden doors, the house sits on 5.3 acres inside Valhalla, a gated enclave in the Brentwood hills. Of its 4 fireplaces, one is outdoors on the second-story deck.

Franklin Road between Brentwood and Franklin squeezes through Hollow Tree Gap, where John Bell Hood's beaten Confederates turned on December 17, 1864. An hour of fighting cost the two sides more than 300 men.

Atkins bought in 2008, when the house was a year old, and held it for 13 years. He and his wife, singer-songwriter Rose Falcon, let it go on March 31, 2021.

The sale was no overnight bidding war: on the market from August 2020 with Fridrich & Clark, the place waited not quite 8 months for its buyer.

His single “Caught Up in the Country” brought in the Fisk Jubilee Singers, Nashville's storied gospel ensemble. It stayed on the Country Airplay chart for 57 weeks, a record run.
