Scarlett Johansson's House

Los Angeles, CA

The Story

Actor who played Black Widow across the Marvel films, starting with Iron Man 2 in 2010. She made her film debut at age 9 in North, in 1994, and drew 2 Oscar nominations in 2020.

The house dates to 1941, among the first 3 built on its hillside tract. Another 2 followed in 1942, and nearly all the rest went up after the war, from 1947 to 1956.

The county assessor rates the 1941 house as effectively a 1978 one, reflecting later updates. It counts only about half of the near-acre parcel as usable ground.

Johansson and her then-husband, Romain Dauriac, bought the house as their Los Angeles base after they married in 2014. Variety broke the purchase in February 2015.

TMZ reported in November 2014 that she had spent nearly an hour in another Los Feliz house, then walked away because it was not private enough.

Johansson and Dauriac divorced in 2017. The house’s county base year has not moved since 2015, so the roll records no sale after her purchase.

Fern Dell, the Griffith Park glen east of this hillside, came to the city in 1914. Before that name took hold, the canyon went by Mocohuenga Canyon.
