Shania Twain's House

Shania Twain is the Canadian singer who carried country into pop with “You’re Still the One.” Her 1997 album Come On Over has sold more than 40 million copies, the best-selling country album ever.

Old Fort Bay is named for the British fort on the ridge above the beach, now the community’s clubhouse. The Cutting family made the fort their home in the 1920s, per the Bahamas tourism ministry.

Ideal Home dates the house to 2004, when the gated community around the restored fort was still new. The club there has operated since 2002, Balmoral Bahamas reports, citing the club itself.

Taste of Country named Shania and her husband, Frédéric Thiébaud, as the owners in 2020 and named her again in 2024. Hello said in 2015 that she splits her time between the Bahamas and Switzerland.

Damianos Sotheby’s International Realty had the house for sale in 2019, Ideal Home reported that June. It later resurfaced with a Nassau broker at a higher price, and by 2022 Hello could not say whether it sold.

In March 2021 Shania posted a clip of herself making her bed here, then stepping out to a terrace a short stroll across the lawn from the ocean. Her caption pushed her “Let’s go girls” TikTok challenge, Hello reported.
