Wendy Williams's House (former)

Wendy Williams hosted her syndicated daytime talk show from its 2008 debut until 2021, after building a following on New York radio through the 1990s. Every hour opened with her Hot Topics segment.

The ground here is made land. The city began pushing the Hudson shoreline west of Greenwich Street in the late 1790s, and by the 1830s the new waterfront sat about 200 yards out.

The tower on this site is a Helmut Jahn design, 64 floors and 780 feet, its glass curtain wall curved at the corners for harbor views. Time Equities finished it in 2016.

Williams arrived as a renter in September 2019, taking a duplex partway up the tower after her divorce. Page Six reported the move, and CityRealty carried it in that month's roundup of celebrity arrivals.

Williams bought the unit from the building's sponsor on June 9, 2021, its first sale ever. The deed was not recorded until late July, which is why press accounts disagree on the month.

By 2024 the apartment was no longer hers. A court-appointed temporary guardian signed the deed on April 18 that year, and New York City recorded the transfer on May 10.

The Financial District counted 13,675 residents in 1990 and about 61,000 by 2016, with its apartment stock quadrupling over the same stretch, amNewYork reported.
