Zachary Levi's Bastrop Ranch (former)
Bastrop, TX
The Story
Zachary Levi played the title role on NBC’s Chuck from 2007 to 2012 and voiced Flynn Rider in Disney’s Tangled. He went on to headline DC’s Shazam films in 2019 and 2023.
About 75 acres on the Colorado River west of Bastrop, Texas, held by Zachary Levi, star of NBC’s Chuck, from 2017 to 2025. Wyldwood Studios, which he leads, is being built on it.
The Bastrop Central Appraisal District logs a warranty deed into Levi, under his birth surname Pugh, dated August 31, 2017. He deeded the land to a Wyldwood development company on May 16, 2025.
The appraisal roll codes the parcel as farm and ranch land with a house. Small buildings, decks, and porches were added in 2018, 2019, and 2021, during Levi’s ownership.
Levi told Fox News in 2026 that his Texas move came from “finding 75 acres outside of Austin, Texas, to buy, to develop.” Fox puts the purchase in 2017, matching the deed.
In April 2026, Building Bastrop County called Wyldwood a “$100 million-plus film and creative campus,” developed by Levi on this land. He had deeded the acreage to the project’s company 11 months earlier.
Community Impact and Building Bastrop County report the plans: phase 1 on about 45 acres, recreation along the Colorado River, and the first 2 soundstages in 2027.
Community Impact places the acreage in the City of Bastrop’s extraterritorial jurisdiction. It is a private development site owned by the Wyldwood company, not open to visitors, so stay off the land.
