Zachary Levi's House (former)
Los Angeles, CA
The Story
Zachary Levi played the title role on NBC's Chuck from 2007 to 2012 and voiced Flynn Rider in Disney's Tangled. He later became the title superhero of DC's 2019 Shazam film and earned a 2016 Tony nomination.
The house went up in 1952 on a block whose neighbors mostly date from 1927 to 1946, per the county roll. That makes it a postwar latecomer to a tract that was already building out by 1927.
Levi's 2017 sale is no longer the one on the county roll. The land base year now reads 2022, and in California that only resets when a property changes hands.
Levi bought the house in 2004, 3 years before Chuck premiered on NBC, and kept it for 13 years. He put it up for sale at the end of June 2017, per Canyon News.
In 2017, Canyon News described a spa, a fire pit, and a 2-level garage finished as flex space. Sliding doors opened from the main suite onto a deck with a retractable awning.
Fox News reports that Levi sold here in 2017 and bought a ranch outside Austin. Those 75 acres in Bastrop County are now the site of Wyldwood Studios, and in September 2026 he called California “a failed state.”
Studio City took its name from the lot Mack Sennett opened on Ventura Boulevard in May 1928. CBS bought it in 1967, and Gilligan's Island and Gunsmoke were both shot there.
